Update On Roofing Project

Thanks so much to the many people who have helped to put a roof on our neighbors' house!  The Terry family is very appreciative for everything that has been done to get the roof on the house.  We are all so thankful that the rain held off till the roof was completed earlier this week.  The project cost for materials was $6720 with $6010 received to date.  We still need $710 to pay all the bills remaining for the materials.  If you feel led to help with this need, please make your check out to:  Emory United Methodist Church, with ESP Fund marked in the memo section.  You may give it to David or Ann Ledgerwood or mail it to:  Neel Rich, P.O. Box 83, Emory, VA  24327.  Thanks again for your part in reaching out to those in need through prayers, labor, and support!

Offering Envelopes

Offering Envelopes for 2009 are available in the Welcome Center. If you have not been issued offering envelopes and would like to be assigned them, please contact the church office.  When using your offering envelopes, please:

Write your name on the envelope.

Use the envelope with the correct date.

Always write the amount you are giving on the envelope so appropriate records can be kept.

Everyone is encouraged to use envelopes when giving donations.

General Fund Balance

At their July monthly board meeting, the Deacons voted to maintain a minimum balance in the General Fund checking account of $55,000.  General Fund balances at the end of each month over $55,000 are to be transferred to the Memorial Fund and designated for staff development.  To date, there has been no transfer for this purpose.  General Fund account balances at the end of August and September have been below the $55,000 minimum.
